There is no good time
HNY
I love the new year.
In my 20s, I was very immersed in new years eve - the celebrations, the countdown, I loved it - more than Christmas. The possibility of a new year has retained its fresh wonder to me - I don’t wince at the resolutions, and relish the possibilities of future endeavours. It feels hopeful every time.
Now we have kids, the new year is a little different but we still celebrate. With friends during the afternoon opposed to the evening, and taking time to be in nature on new years day. Usually we pick the local woods, but this year we plan to watch the sunrise on the beach with the kids and later join for the new years day community sea dip. Both new traditions I hope.
If, like myself, you have found the Christmas break challenging at times, then this list below is for you. And where I want to keep my focus these next coming days.
I wish you a happy new year x
There is no good time.
You deserve beauty.
You deserve beautiful things.
You can want more.
You can lead with intention.
You do not have to work harder or smarter or better.
There is no finish line.
You can sit with uncomfortable feelings.
You are not too much.
Your thoughts, ideas and visions are exciting.
The world is ready for you.
You are creative.
You do not need to dim yourself down.
You can accept a compliment.
The next bit can be great - fantastic even.
Now is the time to discard broken belongings - the things that no longer serve you.
Take time to care for your body.
You are not precious - your life is to be lived.
Find awe everyday.
Seek wonder and joy.
No one is thinking about you - in the best possible way.
Say it loud.

Thank you Emma. A life affirming list to take on board 😍 Happy New Year
